What Selah means

Selah is an old word.

It marks the place where you stop and breathe before going on.

That is what we built here.

Slow down. The rest can wait an hour.

The covered porch at Selah: wicker seating, linen curtains, potted plants, and a small lit fountain.
The porch

Stay a while.

Out back there’s a covered porch, comfortable seating, and a fountain running. Bring your own coffee or have a cup of ours, and sit for a while. Bring a friend, or four — it’s a good spot for a girls’ get-together.

  • Bring your own coffee or have a cup of ours. Somewhere quiet to sit, before or after your appointment — or with no appointment at all
  • Open during spa hours, Monday to Friday, 9 to 6
  • Room for a small group — a get-together with friends, a birthday morning, a slow Friday
Events

When something happens here, you’ll hear first.

The porch is built for gatherings, and we plan to use it. Nothing is on the calendar yet. Put your name down and you’ll be the first to know when there is — that’s all we’ll email you about.

About

Built to be quiet.

Selah is the next chapter of Eight31 Esthetics. Same hands, same care, a new home on Highway 190 with room for skin, quiet, and a porch to sit on afterward.

Christi is a Livingston native. After retiring from a career in law enforcement in 2021, she trained at the Aveda Arts & Science Institute, graduating in 2023, and opened Eight31 Esthetics to give people here a place to actually stop.

Eight31 was named Best of Polk County in 2024 and 2025, and Best of East Texas in 2025.

Every practitioner here keeps their own calendar, so you book directly with the person you’ll see. If you were a client at Eight31, nothing about your care changes. Only the name on the door.

Questions

Before you book.

How do I book?

Every service on this site has a booking button that opens the calendar of the practitioner who performs it. Choose a time, confirm, and you’re booked. If a service is offered by more than one practitioner, pick the name you’d like to see.

Do I book with Selah, or with the practitioner?

With the practitioner. Christi, Sam, and Elizabeth each keep their own calendar, so you book directly with the person you’ll see. Nothing gets lost at a front desk.

Is a deposit required?

New clients pay a deposit on some of the longer facials — the amount is shown on the service card and again on the booking page before you confirm. Returning clients don’t. Buy now, pay later is available on bookings from $50 to $4,000.

What is your cancellation policy?

24 hours’ notice, please. Cancellations with less notice, or no-shows, carry a fee of 50% of the scheduled total, which is paid before your next booking. If you’re running more than 15 minutes late, we’ll need to reschedule you.

Where are you?

4444 US Hwy 190 W, Building A, Livingston, TX 77351. It’s the dark board-and-batten building with the wooden porch, marked 4444A. Map and hours.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Individual practitioners may have different availability within those hours — the booking calendar shows what’s open.

Were you Eight31 Esthetics?

Yes. Selah Day Spa & Wellness is the new name and new home for Eight31 Esthetics. Same owner, same care. If you were a client at Eight31, you can book exactly as before.

Are your practitioners licensed?

Yes. Christi holds a current Texas esthetician license, number 1939424, listed on her practitioner card.

Do you offer a membership?

Two. Spa Basic is $80 a month and includes one facial from a set list plus 10% off other facials, waxing and lash services. Spa Lux is $149 a month and includes any facial with dermaplaning or two add-ons, plus 15% off other services. Both exclude ProCell Therapies. See both.

Can I come by without an appointment?

Yes. The porch is open during spa hours. Bring your own coffee or have a cup of ours, bring a friend, and sit for a while. You don’t need to be booked in to use it.

Do you host events?

The porch is made for it and we plan to. Nothing is scheduled yet. Join the porch list and you’ll hear first when something is.

Do you offer massage?

Yes, with Sam or Elizabeth, both licensed massage therapists. Session lengths and pricing are on their booking pages.
