Is Eight31 Esthetics the same place?
Yes. Selah was Eight31 Esthetics until 2026: same esthetician, same menu, new name and a new address at 4444 US Hwy 190 W. If an old listing sends you to Abbey Street, come to Hwy 190 W instead.
Who does the facials at Selah?
Christi Esteves, a licensed Texas esthetician. She does the facials, peels, dermaplaning, HydroFacials, waxing and lash and brow work herself. You see her real availability before you book.

Which facial should I book?
- You have never had one: the Customized Facial, or the free consultation first.
- Breakouts: the Calming Acne Facial or the Clear Skin Peel. For persistent or cystic acne, Christi will tell you if a dermatologist should be involved too.
- Dull, rough skin or peach fuzz: the Dermaplane Facial.
- Dry or tight skin: the Hydrating Enzyme Facial.
- You are pregnant: the Expecting Mothers Facial. Tell us when you book.
- Your back, not your face: the Rejuvenating Back Facial.
Still not sure? That is what the free Skin Care Consultation is for. Christi looks at your skin and tells you what she would do, including doing nothing for a while if that is the honest answer.
Day spa or med spa: what is the difference?
Selah is a day spa. Facials, peels, waxing and lash and brow work are done by a licensed esthetician. There are no injectables and no IV therapy here. The one medical service on the menu, ProCell microchanneling, is provided under physician delegation. If you want Botox or fillers, you need a med spa; if you want a facial, a day spa is the place.
How do I check that an esthetician in Texas is licensed?
Estheticians in Texas are licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). You can check anyone, for free:
- Open the TDLR license search.
- Choose cosmetology, then search by name or licence number.
- Look for an active status and an expiry date in the future.
Christi’s licence number is 1939424. We would rather you check than take our word for it.
What should I know before my first facial?
- Hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; closed Saturday and Sunday.
- Cancellations need 24 hours’ notice. Less than that, or a no-show, carries a fee of 50% of the booking. More than 15 minutes late and we will need to reschedule.
- Buy now, pay later is available on bookings from $50 to $4,000.
- For what to do the week before, read how to prepare for your first facial.
